Strawberry Coulis
This bright, sweet strawberry puree is a great addition to cakes, frozen desserts, cheesecakes, and more. A simple, three-ingredient treat that could not be easier to make.
Strawberry coulis is a great alternative to strawberry compote. It is a wonderful way to add strawberry flavor to cakes, ice cream, cheesecake, and more. It requires only three ingredients and a few minutes of your time to prepare. It is super easy and a lovely addition to your favorite recipes.
What you will need:
- strawberries – fresh or frozen will work
- cane sugar
- lemon or lime juice
How to:
If you are using fresh strawberries, they will need to be hulled and cut in half or even quarters. If you are using frozen, let them defrost and drain, and then halve or quarter them.
To make the coulis, place the strawberries, cane sugar, and lemon or lime juice in a blender. Blend the ingredients together on high for 1 minute. Once done, pour the coulis through a fine-mesh sieve to strain out the seeds.
The coulis will stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to two weeks in an airtight container.

- 16 oz fresh strawberries ( if using frozen – 18oz frozen will yield 16oz defrosted)
- 3 tbsp cane sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp lemon or lime juice
Instructions
- If you are using fresh strawberries, prep them by hulling them and cutting them into halves or even quarters. If using frozen strawberries, defrost them, drain them and halve or quarter them.
- Place the prepped strawberries along with the sugar and juice into a blender. Blend the ingredients on high for 1 minute.
- Once done blending, strain the coulis through a fine mesh sieve to remove any seeds.Store the coulis in an airtight container. It will remain fresh in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
