Hi, I’m Tiffany, the person behind Once Upon a Chickpea. I am the recipe developer and food photographer. My love of baking (which later turned to vegan baking), has inspired me to start a vegan baking blog.

I have always enjoyed baking, but once I became vegan the mission changed from baking anything to trying to recreate my favorite bakes into something vegan. And not only vegan, I wanted to create recipes so delicious that my non-vegan friends and family wouldn’t be able tell they were vegan.

My vegan journey began by trying to make my home as “animal cruelty free” as possible. That journey eventually made a stop-off in the kitchen, so dairy, eggs and meat were no more. To be completely honest, my husband is not vegan, but I have been able to convert him on a few things especially breads and cookies. He loves all the vegan baked goods and candies I make but asking him to try tofu or tempeh is a different story.

My goal is to make great tasting sweet treats and, if they are vegan, who cares. Just because baked goods are free of dairy and egg doesn’t mean they need to taste any different than traditional baked goods. So, stick around and peruse the site, let me know what you think.
